Philips to Acquire Vesper Medical

12/20/2021

Koninklijke Philips N.V, a $22b Netherlands-based producer of medical imaging and diagnostic solutions acquired Vesper Medical Inc., a developer of minimally-invasive peripheral vascular devices. Vesper’s modular Duo system involves a self-expanding stent that addresses a broader range of vein shapes and sizes than alternative products. Malfunctioning valves or obstructions within veins can cause blood to pool in the legs leading to painful complications. Vesper's stents complement Philips' real-time, interventional imaging hardware and intravascular ultrasound catheters. Philips' 2020 acquisition of Intact Vascular added peripheral atherectomy devices to remove blockages and other peripheral therapy devices.  Terms not announced.
