Through the acquisition J&J will own Peninsula’s lead product, doripenem, a broad-spectrum antibiotic. Deal value about $245 million. Doripenem received Fast Track designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of nosocomial pneumonia, including ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP).
