Novartis acquires the rights to BMS' North American OTC brand portfolio for approximately $660 million ($258 million in sales). Gives Novartis entre into the US adult analgesic market (the largest OTC market with US sales in 2004 estimated at $2 billion). Other acquired brands are No-Doz, Comtrex, and Mineral Ice. The Deal enables BMS to focus on prescription drugs and invest in research and development.
