Due to the aging population and rising hospital costs, the ambulatory surgery center market is an attractive growth area. Deal value -- $637m, on sales of $301.50m (2.1x) and EBITDA of $52.0m (12.2x). Sales rose 16% and EBITDA increased 8.3% this yea. Earlier in 07, Symbion's rival, United Surgical Partners International, was bought out by a private equity firm for $1.8 billion.
